Any Dining Dollars you purchase outside of a meal plan will not expire while you are at Augustana University. This includes any Bonus Dining Dollars you will have been given as a 10% bonus for any Dining Dollar purchase over $25!


Dining Dollars that were part of a meal plan or automatically loaded to your card if you didn't purchase a meal plan will expire at the end of Spring Semester. 


Pro Tip: Don't leave all your Dining Dollars for the end of the school year! Some students will find themselves with Dining Dollars that are about to expire and scramble to purchase goods before the end of Spring term. This usually leads to empty shelves in our retail locations, making it harder for everyone to spend their DD. We do our best to accommodate the remaining DD that you want to spend, but we also are limited on retail and storage space. Dining Dollars are meant to be enjoyed over the course of two semesters, so don't forget to treat a friend or yourself before May comes around.

Dining Dollar funds will spend in the following order: (if applicable)
 
1. Summer Flex (Dining Dollars included with Summer Meal plans) **
2. 125 Flex (Dining Dollars included with the Unlimited) *
3. 325 Flex (Dining Dollars included with The 15) *
4. $50 Dining Dollars (For non-meal participants) *
5. Student DCB (Do not expire!)
6. DCB Bonus (Do not expire!)
* Expire at end of Spring Semester
** Expire at end of Summer Term
 
Once one account has been exhausted, funds will be pulled from the next account in the order stipulated above. Remaining balance on a receipt will only show the balance of the account funds were deducted from. To check your funds at any time, please visit Augustana Campus Card Center
Yes, like any purchase, Dining Dollars are subject to any applicable state and local taxes. Online purchases may be subject to a different tax rate than Dining Dollars purchased over the phone or in person. Since this transaction was taxed at the time of purchase, all Dining Dollars transactions will not be charged tax at our locations!

This could be a number of issues. Feel free to stop in to the Dining Services office and let us know what your issue is and we can sometimes resolve the issue in a few minutes. Sometimes it takes a visit to the Campus Life office down the hall from us, but we will be able to give you an idea of what the issue is, so when you go to Campus Life, you can get your issue resolved faster!

Pro Tip! If you lose your Augustana ID and are given a new one, the new one will not work in our dining locations until it is updated in the card services database. This should be done when your new card is printed, but if your new card isn't working, Dining Services can add it to the database and your card will work immediately.

If you add your Dining Dollars in person or over the phone, your Dining Dollars will be ready to use instantly!

If you purchase online, your Dining Dollars will be added to your account during standard business hours. You should receive an email from our team confirming your Dining Dollars have been added, but this email is not generated automatically, so there is a possibly that your DD were added to your account without a confirmation email. To double check, head over to Campus Card Center to check your balances. 

Replacement or Transfer meals are simply a way to use a meal swipe or a weekly replacement meal in an area outside of the Ordal Dining Hall. A meal plan holder can currently exchange a swipe for a replacement meal in Chick-fil-A and our small retail area inside of the ODH. 

Here are the four options available for a replacement meal in Chick-fil-A:

This is rare, but not impossible. All weekly meal plan numbers reset on Saturday. So this means if you get 5 replacement meals a week on the Unlimited Plan, you can start your "count" over on Saturday. In the rare case that guests use multiple replacement swipes on a Friday, those transactions might not post until Saturday, thus "taking" replacement meals from the current week. This rarely happens and we are happy to adjust the number in the Dining Services Office. 

Of course, if you use all 5 between Saturday and Friday, you will have to wait until the following Saturday to use your replacement meal option again.
